This simple 7 ingredient meat sauce is your answer for a comforting and satisfying dinner, featuring ground beef, fresh garlic, and ripe tomatoes.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
28 ounces canned crushed tomatoes
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Sauté until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Add the minced garlic to the pot and sauté for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes, stirring to combine with the beef and garlic.
Stir in the Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Once the sauce has thickened and the flavors are well combined, taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Serve hot over your favorite pasta.
