Instructions

  1. Prepare the cabbage by removing the core and carefully peeling off 12 large leaves. Blanch them in boiling water for about 2-3 minutes until softened. Drain and let cool.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and cabbage roll seasoning. Mix until well combined.
  3. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a large baking dish with cooking spray or oil.
  4. Take a cabbage leaf and place about 1/4 cup of the meat mixture at the base of the leaf. Fold the sides over and roll tightly. Place seam-side down in the baking dish.
  5. Repeat with remaining leaves and filling until all are rolled. Pour tomato sauce over the rolls, ensuring they are well covered.
  6. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes for a slightly caramelized top.
  7. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Drizzle with sour cream for added richness, if desired.
