A meal that transforms your ordinary ground beef into something extraordinary with a medley of savory Korean flavors.
Ingredients
Scale:
- 1 pound Ground beef (preferably 80% lean)
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Ginger, minced
- 3 Green onions, chopped, divided
- 1 cup Carrots, shredded
- 1 Bell pepper, diced (any color)
- 1/4 cup Soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
- 2 cups Rice (white or brown), cooked
- 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over medium-high heat.
- Add minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- While the beef is cooking, in a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce and brown sugar until the sugar dissolves.
- Pour the soy sauce mixture over the beef, stirring to combine. Allow to simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
- Add the shredded carrots and diced bell pepper, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the chopped green onions, reserving some for garnish. Remove from heat.
- Serve the beef mixture over cooked rice, garnished with sesame seeds and remaining green onions.
