Ingredients
Scale:
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs for extra juiciness)
Instructions
In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Place the chicken in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour half of the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it’s evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F). If using a slow cooker, set it to low.
For grilling, remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the chicken for 6-8 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F, brushing with the remaining marinade during the last few minutes of cooking.
For slow cooking, place the chicken and the remaining marinade in the slow cooker. Cook on low for 4-6 hours or until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.
If you prefer baked chicken, preheat the oven to 375°F, place the marinated chicken in a baking dish, and bake for 25-30 minutes or until cooked through.
