This dish combines the savory goodness of grilled ground beef with a unique, creamy feta sauce that is elevated by a spicy sweet hot honey drizzle.
Ingredients
Scale:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
¾ cup warm water (about 110°F)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
½ cup Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Fresh parsley, chopped
Additional hot honey for drizzling
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook for 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula. Once it begins to brown, add garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
In a medium bowl, combine the crumbled feta cheese, Greek yogurt, honey, olive oil, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and lemon juice. Mix until the ingredients are well blended into a creamy consistency.
After the dough has rested, divide it into four equal portions. On a lightly floured surface, roll each portion into a circle about ¼ inch thick.
Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook each flatbread for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and slightly charred.
Spread a generous amount of the garlic hot honey feta cream over each flatbread. Top with the cooked ground beef.
Drizzle additional hot honey over the top for added sweetness and spice, and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
