Easy Oven Baked Ribs offer a delightful way to enjoy ribs without the hassle of a grill or smoker. This recipe uses a savory rib flavors approach with a sweet and tangy marinade that will have your family craving more.
Ingredients
Scale:
2 racks of pork ribs (about 3-4 pounds)
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon mustard
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). This low and slow cooking method will ensure the ribs become tender.
Prepare the spice rub by mixing brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and chili powder in a bowl.
Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs for better tenderness. Pat the ribs dry and rub the spice mixture generously all over the meat.
Wrap each rack of ribs in aluminum foil, creating a sealed packet. Place the wrapped ribs on a baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the ribs are tender and the meat is pulling away from the bones.
While the ribs are baking, prepare the barbecue sauce. Combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, honey, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard in a saucepan. Simmer over low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
After baking, carefully remove the ribs from the oven and unwrap them. Brush a generous amount of barbecue sauce over the ribs.
Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C). Return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
Once cooked, remove from the oven and let the ribs rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
