Description
These delightful cookies are not just a visual feast; they are a deliciously soft and chewy confection that captures the whimsical spirit of Halloween.
Ingredients
Scale:
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup cream cheese frosting
Chocolate drizzle (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing until fully incorporated.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Using a cookie scoop, drop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Once cooled, drizzle the cream cheese frosting over the cookies to create a mummy effect, then add chocolate chips or candy eyes as decorations.
