  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, stir in the granulated and brown sugars until combined.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool slightly. Then, whisk in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and espresso powder. Gradually fold this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
