Ingredients
Scale:
- 8 slices of Soft bread (such as Texas toast or brioche)
- 4 large Eggs
- 1 cup Milk
- 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 2 tablespoons Butter (for frying)
- Optional: Powdered sugar (for dusting)
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Instructions
- Start by flattening each slice of bread with a rolling pin to make it easier to roll up.
- In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth.
- Spread a thin layer of the cinnamon sugar mixture on each slice of flattened bread.
- Starting at one end, roll up each slice tightly. Pinch the ends to seal.
- In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
- Dip each roll in the egg mixture, ensuring all sides are coated.
- Place the rolls seam-side down in the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
- Once cooked, remove from the skillet and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
